Table and Chair Rental
There are some definite advantages to certain types of seating. Round tables encourage interaction between guests more than banquet tables, while banquet tables are more easily incorporated into space-restricted areas. Round tables are also cheaper to get (floor-length) cloths for than long tables, but longer tables can reduce the amount you have to spend on decorations. These things are all a matter of budget and personal preference.
Unless you're doing a formal sit-down dinner, the general rule of thumb for seating is, "Seat half your guests." That being said, you know your guest list. Most men like to stand around cocktail areas and mingle, while many ladies prefer to sit and have conversations. Most elderly will need a place to sit comfortably for much of the night, and children can be seated ten to a table versus eight. We can help you plan your seating, but you will definitely want to discuss your requirements and guest list with your coordinator. More than a handful of empty seats looks terrible in pictures, and can actually signal to your guests that it's time to leave much earlier than you want to end the party. Booking more than half can be a good plan, as long as you have a place to store the "extras" until they may be needed. Keep in mind that we can be hired to do these things at your event so your family or friends aren't left with the burden. Even if they don't mind, over the many years we have supplied and staffed special events, we find that stress levels are reduced when you can depend on staff that know how to do their jobs. Below are some pictures of our seating equipment, both by themselves (what you get for the price) and what it looks like actually at an event.
Tan Folding Chair
Our tan folding chair is American-made out of high strength low alloy framing materials and 100% virgin polypropylene seat and back materials. In a neutral tan, not only is it casual enough for a very wide variety of events, but it can go with virtually any color scheme. This chair is rated for up to 275 lbs.
At seated position, the tan folding chair is approximately 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 32 inches tall with a seat height of 18 inches. Eight to ten of them will fit at either an 8' banquet table or a 60" round table. It is pictured left with a round table and a disposable gingham table covering.
Folding Padded Chairs
Our folding padded chairs come in white, black, or oak, and are pictured in this section alone and at events. Made of 100% UV stabilized polypropylene or solid hardwood, these chairs have been tested to an excess of 350 lbs for the resin and 250 lbs for the wood. Open, they measure 18 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 31 inches tall, with a seat height of 18 inches. Eight to ten of them will fit at either an 8' banquet table or a 60" round table. This chair is pictured below with eight at a 48" round table.
Banquet Tables
Our banquet tables are 30" wide and come in two different lengths; they are either 6 or eight feet long. They are ideal for serving food, as well as seating guests.
6' Banquet Table - Seats 6 - 8 people
8' Banquet Table - Seats 8 - 10 people
A chair is usually about 18-20 inches wide, and you will need 2 feet of space for an average sized adult. If you also utilize the ends of the tables, you can use the higher end of the range for seating.
For seating arrangements, count on needing about a 10x10 space for a single table with chairs.
Round Tables
Our round seating tables come in three different sizes:
30" Round Table - Seats 4 - 6 people
48" Round Table - Seats 6 - 8 people
60" Round Table - Seats 8 - 10 people
When calculating how many tables you will need, try to take into account the average size of your guests (children vs. adults), place settings of the meals, and the size of the centerpieces or other décor. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. That is what we are here for!
Our pedestal table tops are 30" wide and come in two heights. Dining height is 30" tall, and cocktail height is 42". These tables are best used over a flat surface to avoid being unstable.
We like to use these in cocktail areas or smoking areas, as well as to border dance floors. They are great for casual conversation and drinks while standing up and talking. For that reason, we rarely use stools at these tables, as most people just like to stand and mingle.
At the standard seating height of 30", conference tables are half the width of a banquet table and are best utilized in a classroom or conference style setting, usually being seated on only one side.
